Guanaco exist in some of the world’s harshest climates in the Andes of Chile, Argentina, Bolivia and Peru. The fleece comprises a double coat consisting of guard hair and the coveted honey coloured down that keeps the fierce winds and driving snow out. Afte

Alpaca Fibre and Yarn
The Alpaca is the most numerous of the South Americancamelid family but in terms of volume traded, it is far rarer than cashmere.
Alpacas live mainly in the highland sierra of Peru. Baby Alpaca is the
name given to the first year’s alpaca shearing and is of legendary quality.
The Alpacas lightweight hollow fibres are itch-free and incredibly insulating.
Alpaca fibre comes in a variety of shades but fibre from our organically reared Alpaca is available primarily in blacks and browns for spinning. We also have a range of knitting yarns in 100% Alpaca. Please see below for the range.
